They're with the horses.
Horse shows span the length of many fields, incorporating jumps and other obstacles so that judges can see what each horse can do.
Bright ribbons flash in the sun as the judge announces the winners - all the way up to 10th place. The ground is littered with riding hats and big black boots, and the smell is hay and horses is...well...LINGERING.
As each horse passed me, I looked into their eyes and saw a gentle, kind and majestic creature.
Maybe they were taking in the day, as I was....

I recommended this entry to my horse-lovng relatives. Apparently there are no helments on the kids riding English?
I don't know about that - I only saw kids with helmets. This horse show was pretty low key. The Hamptons Classic is coming up and that's like the big show here.
