Photo Booths at the Mall

As kids, it was the thing to stop off at the photo booth in the mall or in K-mart while we waited for our parents to pick us up after a long day of window shopping and popping 25 cent gumballs.
Just a casual thing.....and often the string of 4 or 5 tiny pictures would end up in the trash, forgotten.
What I've realized, especially after meeting Kim (see above photo) is that those tiny photos are an art form in themselves. Watch "Amelie" and there is a character in that film that scrapes under the photo booths at the subway station and puts torn photo booth pictures back together in the form of a scrap book.
I saw Kim's portfolio today and she has plenty of photo booth pictures incorporated into collages - there was even one of her as a young girl with her mom.
They are timeless - meaningless to some - making memories of friendly times.
