Alex and I had seen this church and found it so charming that we had both said "We should go there!" Today around 10:30am, we booked it to the church and got settled in the cushiony seats. The church wasn't packed by any means - but there was a good number of couples there, all in their Sunday best, the women wearing expensive heels and flashy diamond rings. The priest had a good natured face and carried the typical pair of huge glasses. He took a seat at the beginning of the service and we all listened to the organ music. Alex pointed the little toy mouse out to me that sat on the corner of the alter.
There is no way to fall asleep during an episcopalian service. There is WAY too much to do. So many response readings are included that Alex and I were scrambling to find the right pages and keep up. The music choices were great and included Dvorak and Handel. The sermon was brief, down to earth and very real.
When we left, we shook the priests hand and walked back home in the sunshine - after spending a blissful hour in the charming red chapel on main street.

How are Episcopalians for greeting newcomers? Any kids in service? Or are they being watched by their nannies? ;)
They were friendly enough - there were kids but no nannies - and no coffee hour ;)
Maybe Episcopalians as a group are trying to cut down on coffee consumption. Sounds like the church for you!
