Yes, we're mystical - not a mystery

Once I saw this book in a book store entitled "What Men Know about Women" - it was blank.

Funny joke, right? Hahah.

It was really brought home to me today how little some men think they know about women. (Notice I said SOME men) I was at the gift store in Sag Harbor, working when two young men came in, looking for a gift for the girl friend of one of them. She wasn't a watch or ring gal, but the boyfriend thought that maybe she would like a necklace (after being told "no, we don't have belly button rings").

He and his friend stood by our jewelery case, looking over all the items, almost in a mood of despair. I suggested shoes - no girl can have enough shoes.

No - she got those for her birthday.

I suggested a variety of other places down the street to look for fun stuff - but the boys returned at least three times, to ponder over our display of jewelery.

My shift was finally over before they decided on what they wanted -but it got me thinking....are women that hard to shop for?

I guess some are - just as some guys are clueless as to what girls want for gifts. I told the young man before I left "She'll love whatever you give her - because it's YOU giving it to her".

He seemed to like that.

Like I said - it's the thought, the gesture - not the gift ;)

The guy is looking for a navel ring in a toy store?

Your final comment to the shoppers should be enough to get you a job in any retail place. Quite nice.
