Race for the Cure

5:45am - rubbing the sleep from my eyes
6am-leave Conway for Little Rock
6:45am - Arrive at Arch/2nd Ave, a building containing a giant pink ribbon lighting our way
7:30am-head back to the car with free stuff, after being accosted by pink pink pink.
7:45am-Get in line for the race, 27 minute or below runners upfront!
A quick prayer, national anthem and words of encouragement - we're on our way.

Flying across the bridge into north little rock. Keep going. Music and faces are a blur. Don't stop, keep going.

Cups of water are taken on the corners, drunk, tossed aside.

More music.

Don't stop.

Some runners have slowed to a walk. My legs won't stop moving.

HUFF HUFF.

The finish line is in site. I look up at the clock. 24:50.

s'alright.
