Looking back at past blog entries, I've started to notice a trend. Many have the theme of early morning, or early morning light.
Recently I've discovered the reason why.
I like "new things". A new day. To me, there is nothing purer, nothing more beautiful than the morning sunlight, gently stroking everything it lays its golden hands on.
It's warm and captivating, just like a wool blanket in the winter.
There's an elementary school across the street from my apartment complex and I pass it every day on my morning run. The playground outside of the school, to me, changes in appearance throughout the day.
It's almost like a person, sleepy and groggy in the early morning hours. But by 7am, it's had its morning coffee and is wide away, bursting with wild, yellow energy, excitedly awaiting the kids.
The ordinary plastic and metal structures, situated on wood chips host many groups. I've seen daycare and soccer groups and even the ROTC from the college works out on the monkey bars. That shows me that others share my love of the early mornings and take advantage of those few golden hours as much as they can. I don't blame them.
