April 2007 - I found myself in Sag Harbor New York - the land of sea breezes and huge summer homes. In order to stay in touch with friends and family, I started a blog about my adventures there. My fiancee (now husband) and I moved to Arkansas in the fall of 2007. Since then the blog has detailed my life...as a yankee in the south, a runner, an actor, a writer and an administrative assistant. It's been a wild ride and continues to be a grand adventure...:)

Puddle Jumpers
A friend and I were drving home today after having coffee. It was raining.
"Did you ever play in the rain as a kid?" She asked?
"Still do," I laughed.
She started telling me about how, as a kid, she would put on her friend's riding boots and go "puddle hopping" with her siblings and friends. Her whole body got soaked, except for her feet. Riding boots will keep ANYTHING out.
Our conversation made me think of rainy days at 1200 G Ave. It would always flood at the bottom of our driveway and our neighbor's across the street. Regardless of the dirty, rocks or whatever that would swirl around in the mini white water rapids that was created, my sister and I as well as our neighborhood friends would do our rain dance. Mom always had towels waiting for us when we came inside.
That's why, when it rains, I sometimes purposely don't bring an umbrella. The, when no one is looking, I go "puddling hopping".
