Indigo(ish.....the sky, people):

1.
a blue dye obtained from various plants, esp. of the genus Indigofera, or manufactured synthetically.
2.
indigo blue (def. 2).
3.
any of numerous hairy plants belonging to the genus Indigofera, of the legume family, having pinnate leaves and clusters of usually red or purple flowers.
4.
a color ranging from a deep violet blue to a dark, grayish blue. –adjective
5.
Also called indigo-blue, indigotic. of the color indigo

I have one more color post to do - violet. Any suggestions?
I never knew Indigo was part of the "rainbow" until...hmmm...later in life. Or maybe it just added. Can you add colors to the rainbow? When did you learn about Indigo?

the colors of the rainbow are:

Red,
Orange,
Yellow,
Green,
Blue,
Indigo,
Violoet

(Roy G Biv) our mneumonic device from school that I remember.

I also remember learning that red, yellow, and blue are the primary colors and that all other colors come from mixing a combination of those, and adding white or black for different shades. That's elementary stuff, though. I don't know much else. :)
