I've decided lately (especially as twilight greets us at a much earlier hour now) that I love the shadow of trees.

They have so many sides to them - some are scary, kind, sad, warm. Most make me think of the trees in The Wizard of Oz.

My apartment building is surrounding by a small grouping of trees - an interesting addition to the ever increasing Urban sprawl. Try as they might, they can't keep the sun out. Its beams glimmer through the tree's branches, fighting to reach me.

Thus the day begins.
