I made this.

And yes, I will admit that it looks like a 3rd grader did it in art class. It is the right boot of a pair that I'm working on made out of old sweaters. Lately I've gone through an arts and crafts phase. Unfortunately, I know that again, a 3rd grader has more talent that I do in that area. But there's something restful and almost meditative about sewing or gluing or making something pretty. No matter what the outcome.

But there is hope. I've joined a sewing club. With girls who OWN sewing machines and know how to sew. The above boot was sewn by hand by me, as I sat near them in the Fayetteville sewing center, sipping a latte and listening to the tunes on my ipod. It was nice. Kind of a perfect way to spend a Saturday afternoon. We'll see if I get the left one finished :)
