April 2007 - I found myself in Sag Harbor New York - the land of sea breezes and huge summer homes. In order to stay in touch with friends and family, I started a blog about my adventures there. My fiancee (now husband) and I moved to Arkansas in the fall of 2007. Since then the blog has detailed my life...as a yankee in the south, a runner, an actor, a writer and an administrative assistant. It's been a wild ride and continues to be a grand adventure...:)

My camera battery died JUST as my friends and I were walking into art amiss last night. "Seriously????" I thought! I LOVE my Nikon D40 and it's battery usually last a whole month before I have to recharge it. But that's because I take REALLY good care of it and I let it die completely before recharging.
Well, I quickly whipped out my phone and used it instead. The pictures were, of course, nowhere near what I could have captured with my Nikon. But they will suffice for now.
Art Amiss was held at the Dickson street theater on Dickson street in Fayetteville Arkansas. It was a chance for area artist to display their work. There was a whole schedule of events that lasted the entire night. Us working gals, however, retired around 9pm :)
Never shy of talking to strangers, I approached an older gentleman who was carrying around a Nikon D 5,000. We chatted about cameras and I told him that my battery had died on my just as soon as I walked in the door. He suggested carrying a spare battery. You never know what these Hipster types can teach you!
