Last night I went to my friend Erin's birthday party.

She was excited, cute, and effervescent. She was joyful for everyone's presence.

It made me think. As you grow older, you're grateful for people and time instead of materialistic things. You desire memories more than new clothes or electronics. You make every moment count.

As my own birthday approaches, I resolve to do what Erin did. Laugh, think about the now (if only for one day - plenty of time to stress and think about the future!) and appreciate the loved ones around me and far away.
