Hailee's visit

Sometimes I don't know how to react to children. I feel as though I have been 40 since 3rd grade, so part of me wants to treat kids like little adults.

My nephew Miles is perfect. I just want to hold him and gaze into his wonderful little happy face.

I have a similar feeling towards Al's nieces. I will be their aunt soon, and already feel like their family.

But when confronted with other people's children, outside of my family circle, sometimes I don't know what to do.

My boss's daughter, Hailee, taught me that all they need is a little love.

Hailee is 4 years old. Shy at first, she will steal your heart away with her chatter and luminous brown eyes. She loves wearing pink and leaves a trail of glitter whereever she goes, from her many sparkly belts. Making phone calls to her mommy, daddy or workers in World Granite's office is her chief job while she's here.

I'm glad she has a home away from home.
