April 2007 - I found myself in Sag Harbor New York - the land of sea breezes and huge summer homes. In order to stay in touch with friends and family, I started a blog about my adventures there. My fiancee (now husband) and I moved to Arkansas in the fall of 2007. Since then the blog has detailed my life...as a yankee in the south, a runner, an actor, a writer and an administrative assistant. It's been a wild ride and continues to be a grand adventure...:)

I love the library here.
After my morning runs on Saturday, I like to go to the library, grab an iced latte at the cafe there, check out some books and surf the internet in the lobby.
The spot where the building resides is perfect. There's a stellar view from the huge window in the back as well as a large balcony to sit on and read. The building is a marvel. That's not attracts me the most, however. It's the little wilderness that surrounds the building.
Exiting the library, I walk down the long, wide "Cinderella steps". At the bottom, I am greeted by bright flowers and soft bushes. They are expertly trimmed and maintained. Cement ledges and quaint benches, speckle the area, inviting library patrons to exchange the indoors for the outdoors.
As I was walking near a grouping of large white flowers, last week, my bag softly brushed up against them. I later discovered one of the flowers in my shoe, perfectly laced into the small black bow. Quietly lovely.
