Lately, I've become obsessed with flowers and light.
I think it hearkens back to my days as a little girl when I heard a story about crystal or diamond flowers that some princess wore...there's more to the story, obviously. But I think that is one of the reasons I like to look for how the light falls on flower petals and how it can change. There is a very large part of me that is still a little girl at heart - and little girls always think about princesses, don't they?

I've been on walks where the sun shines at just the right angle, and the flower starts to glow. In a "little girl state of mind" I start to look for rubies among the roses, canary diamonds among the daffodils and amethysts in the violets. The flowers might as well be the precious gems, as they hold the light just as strongly.
